'TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF CUBA'
A solidarity "petition campaign" for Cuba, organized under the initiative of the Cuba Friendship Association and signed by academics, journalists, and various intellectuals, addressed the US Presidency:
"Take your hands off Cuba!
To the Presidency of the United States,
We are witnessing that the systematic aggression you have been carrying out against Cuba for over 60 years has reached a new and dangerous stage.
The executive order signed by the US President at the end of January, which makes oil exports to Cuba virtually impossible, directly targets the country's hospitals, schools, and production areas.
This decision restricts Cuban citizens' access to healthcare services, usurps the right to education of Cuban children, and consciously destroys the country's development opportunities."
'THE BLOCKADE ON CUBA HAS TURNED INTO A POLICY OF GENOCIDE'
The statement emphasized that the blockade policy applied to the Cuban people for a long time has now turned into a policy of genocide:
"The blockade you have been maintaining against the Cuban people for decades has now turned into an open policy of genocide.
The Cuban people, determined to defend their homeland to the last drop of their blood, are defending not only their own right to life and sovereignty before you, but also the dignity of humanity. Cuba is resisting US imperialism on behalf of all humanity.
Supporting this resistance is our duty."
'CUBA IS NOT ALONE, IT WILL NEVER BE ALONE.'
At the end of the statement, it was emphasized that the US must end its policies toward Cuba, and it was stated that the struggle will continue on this path:
"We, as friends of Cuba, demand an immediate end to the inhumane blockade policies; we declare that we will do everything in our power to defend socialist Cuba.
Cuba is not alone, it will never be alone."
