The We Will Stop Femicide Platform (KCDP) has released its September 2024 report.

According to the published report, 34 women were murdered in Turkey in one month, while the deaths of 20 women were found to be suspicious.

Of the 34 women murdered, 12 were killed because they wanted a divorce, or refused to reconcile, marry, or continue a relationship.

Two were killed for economic reasons, one for a hate-based motive, and one was killed while accompanying a friend who was the target. The motive for the murder of 18 of the women could not be determined.

Of the 34 women murdered in September, 16 were killed by their husbands, 4 by men they were previously in a relationship with, 4 by men they were currently in a relationship with, 2 by their sons, 2 by someone they knew, 1 by a relative, 1 by their father, 1 by a man they were previously married to, and 1 by a stranger. The relationship of 2 women to their killers could not be determined. This month, 47 percent of the women were killed by their husbands.

22 of the women were killed in their homes, 6 on the street, 3 at their workplace, 1 in a hotel, and 1 in a car. The location where 1 woman was killed could not be determined. This month, 65% of the murdered women were killed in their homes.

Of the women murdered this month, 18 were killed with firearms, 10 with sharp objects, 4 by being beaten, and 2 by strangulation. This month, 53% of the murdered women were killed with firearms.
