Weather conditions affect fishing: Fish prices rise
Due to adverse weather conditions in the Black Sea, fishermen have been unable to set sail, leading to an increase in fish prices.

The storms that have been effective in the Eastern Black Sea in recent days and the resulting severe waves at sea are particularly affecting fishermen. Ünal Karadeniz, head of the Perşembe Fishermen's Cooperative, stated that while boats unable to set sail due to adverse weather conditions are waiting by anchoring in different ports, there has been an increase in fish prices.
Stating that the fish sold at stalls last week are now priced at double, Karadeniz said that the price of a single bonito is currently 150 liras, while red mullet is being sold for 350 liras, horse mackerel for 150 liras, and bluefish for 350 liras per kilogram.
Ünal Karadeniz added that fishing will resume once the weather improves in the region and that fish prices will return to their previous levels in the coming days.
