Many ministers and district chairs sent wreaths to the wedding, which took place at the Davutpaşa Congress Center.
According to a report by Sarya Toprak from BirGün newspaper, the wedding of Muhammed Emin Erkuş, son of AKP Esenler District Chair Emrullah Erkuş, was held at the Yıldız Technical University Davutpaşa Campus.
Reacting to the situation, students stated, "Just recently, a 15-year-old child was killed at a wedding held at Boğaziçi University. Universities are centers of science; they are not places where outsiders can hold weddings as they please."
Meanwhile, students asked the appointed rector Eyüp Debik, "Can anyone rent the congress center, or is it exclusive to your AKP friends?"
