Wedding hall tragedy in İzmir! Concrete arch collapses, 1 person loses their life
In a horrific accident at a wedding hall in the Menemen district of İzmir following a breakfast event organized by a kindergarten, a decorative concrete arch collapsed, resulting in the death of doctor Mehmet Fatih Baltacı and leaving his wife critically injured. The business owner, his wife, and his son have been taken into custody in connection with the incident.

According to the information received, a decorative concrete arch at a wedding hall in the Yahşelli neighborhood collapsed following a breakfast event organized by a kindergarten. Mehmet Fatih Baltacı (35) and his wife Güler Baltacı (35) were trapped under the rubble.
Upon notification, health, gendarmerie, fire department, and AFAD teams were dispatched to the area. The injured were extracted from the scene by fire and AFAD teams and transported to Menemen State Hospital.
Mehmet Fatih Baltacı, who was transferred to İzmir City Hospital following initial treatment, could not be saved despite medical intervention. It was learned that his wife, Baltacı, is still receiving treatment at the same hospital and remains in critical condition.
On the other hand, it was stated that Mehmet Fatih Baltacı served as a doctor at the İzmir City Hospital Pediatric Emergency Medicine Clinic.
Business official N.C. (50) was taken into custody by gendarmerie teams.

Following the incident, the business official N.C.'s (50) wife and son were also taken into custody by gendarmerie teams. The suspects were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the gendarmerie.
