Within the scope of the case filed against 28 defendants, including social media influencer Dilan Polat and her husband Engin Polat, who were arrested on charges of money laundering, and for which the first hearing was scheduled for September, the appeal against the detention of 5 defendants had been rejected.

Lawyers for the 5 detained defendants, including Dilan Polat and her husband Engin Polat, filed another appeal for their clients' release on July 19, following the report prepared by the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) as part of the case.

Evaluating the appeal on the same day, the Anatolian 4th High Criminal Court rejected the appeal for 4 defendants, including Engin Polat.

The court panel decided to postpone the evaluation for the detained defendant Dilan Polat to today, citing missing documentation.

News reports emerged today stating that the court panel, having reviewed the file again, had also rejected the appeal for Dilan Polat and decided that her detention should continue.

12punto asked Polat's lawyer Sevinç Horoz about the latest status regarding the detention appeal for Dilan Polat.

In her statement to 12punto, lawyer Sevinç Horoz stated that there was a shift in duty during the file review process, and therefore the Istanbul Anatolian 5th High Criminal Court would be reviewing the file.

Stating that they had not yet received the decision, lawyer Sevinç Horoz said, "We are waiting for the file to be transferred to the 5th High Criminal Court. The decision will be announced after the file is reviewed."

Lawyer Sevinç Horoz stated that no action that could be considered a criminal element was detected for Dilan Polat in the MASAK report.
