What will be discussed in the Turkish Parliament this week? Will the 8th Judicial Package pass?

The General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) will begin its weekly work on Tuesday, February 20. 

The General Assembly will continue deliberations on the Draft Law on Amendments to Certain Laws Related to Health and Decree-Law No. 663.

According to the proposal, dentists will be able to employ other dentists in oral and dental health clinics.

Emergency medicine specialists will be able to pursue sub-specializations in intensive care, and pediatrics specialists will be able to pursue sub-specializations in social pediatrics. The number of contract positions in areas where it is difficult to recruit personnel in the health sector will be increased from 27 thousand to 36 thousand.

Following the completion of the discussions on the proposal covering various regulations in the health sector, the General Assembly will address the Draft Law on Amendments to the Mining Law and Certain Other Laws.

According to the report by AA; under this proposal, natural gas produced domestically or imported from different sources will be able to be liquefied in Turkey and marketed to world markets as LNG.

Projects prepared to increase energy efficiency will be supported by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, provided that the support does not exceed 15 million liras and covers a maximum of 30 percent of the project costs.

In places where a state of emergency has been declared or which have been accepted as disaster areas affecting general life, temporary electricity energy demands will be met within the framework of determined procedures and principles to ensure that electricity services are provided without interruption.

Furthermore, the TBMM Justice Commission will convene on Tuesday, February 20, to begin deliberations on the 8th Judicial Package.

Group meetings of the political parties with groups in Parliament will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday.
