What will happen to Menzil's 17 billion lira fortune? 'Erdoğan' remark from the sect leader

The inheritance dispute continues within the Menzil Sect, which has grown increasingly powerful within the state in recent years. 

Following the death of the sect's leader, Abdulbaki Elhüseyni, on July 12, 2023, a struggle for inheritance has been ongoing among his sons. After Abdulbaki Elhüseyni's death, his sons Muhammed Saki, Muhammed Fettah, and Muhammed Mubarek announced that they would manage the sect together through a system called "co-sheikhdom." The brothers, who took over the sect which possesses capital worth billions of liras, soon fell into an inheritance dispute.

Despite about a year and a half passing, Menzil's multi-billion lira fortune, companies, and real estate have yet to be divided. Most recently, it was announced that a "sharia court" had been established to resolve the inheritance dispute. It was announced that three sect members named “Molla Nezir, Molla Abdurrahman, and Molla Şeyhmus” would act as arbitrators in the sharia court.

During this process, the individuals presiding over the sharia court met with one of the Menzil leaders, Muhammed Saki Elhüseyni. Audio recordings, photos, and videos of the meeting, which lasted about two hours, were shared on social media by some sect members. 

According to the report by İsmail Arı from BirGün; The following remarks by Saki Elhüseyni in the shared audio recordings are noteworthy: 

“The bosses of these people (referring to his brothers) are the same as FETÖ's. One collected 'himmet' (charity) money, the other (his brothers) collected 'teberru' (donation) money. For 15 months, I haven't been able to get an accounting from the shops. I don't even want to be seen side-by-side with them (his brothers) in the mosque. I am fed up with them.

‘ERDOĞAN WILL RESOLVE THIS’

I will take these matters to court, but they have done such things that when we tell professors, they say ‘there is nothing to be done.’ This matter (the inheritance dispute) has gone to the President. Hopefully, our President will fix this. There is real estate and company assets exceeding 17 billion TL in value. 10 of this is with them (his brothers) and 7 is with us. 90 percent of Europe is with them. There is a house in France… We have two or three houses in Germany and other things as well. There are over 1,500 lodges and 5,000 rented properties.

‘THE GOVERNOR GRANTED INDUSTRIAL ZONING’

We obtained industrial zoning (it was not understood where) during that governor's time. If he is alive now, may God grant him a long life. They established a company and put the title deeds under its name. They are a network. They didn't let people into the lodges by saying ‘our elder ordered it,’ and they cut off the water to the Quran course in Bursa. Who is your elder? Is he a dragon, is he Nimrod, we need to know. They don't say it, but let me say it: their elders are Muhammed Fettah and Muhammed Mubarek…

‘350 TITLE DEEDS TRANSFERRED TO THE FOUNDATION’

These people (his brothers) are liars. They also did all sorts of things to the lodges in Europe. I will complain about them everywhere. They have established four or five companies all over Europe. They transferred the lodges to the companies. Now they don't let people in there. As soon as they saw that my father's illness was severe, they moved in like pitch. They embezzled the property of the Ummah.”
