DEM Party Van MP Pervin Buldan spoke about the visit she and Sırrı Süreyya Önder made to PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan. Responding to questions from the ANKA News Agency, Buldan said, "We will request appointments from political parties after the New Year."
Buldan stated, "After we complete our meetings, we will likely return to İmralı shortly thereafter."
Speaking to Hilal Köylü from Serbestiyet, Buldan also remarked, "If peace and democracy are desired, it is time for everyone to take responsibility. Everyone must contribute. 2015 was a lesson for everyone. We must not waste another period. We all need to draw lessons from that process. We must make good use of this period. I am saying this from the perspective of the opposition, of course."
Buldan added the following:
"Peace will inevitably come to these lands, but I think we are in the time when we are closest to peace. We had a very positive and good meeting in İmralı. Yes, this is the era of peace and democracy."
WHEN WILL ÖCALAN MAKE THE CALL?
Buldan further stated that there is no set date yet for when Abdullah Öcalan will call on the PKK to lay down its arms.
