WHO IS SIRRI SÜREYYA ÖNDER?
Sırrı Süreyya Önder was born on July 7, 1962, in Adıyaman. He is a Turkish director, screenwriter, producer, actor, journalist, and politician.
He has worked in directing, screenwriting, acting, music production, and as a newspaper columnist in the national press. In the 2011 general elections, he was elected as a member of parliament from Istanbul's 2nd district.
In the 2014 local elections, he was the HDP's candidate for the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, but he did not win.
He was elected as a member of parliament from Ankara's 1st district in the June 2015 general elections and the November 2015 general elections, which he participated in as part of the HDP.
He served as a member of parliament for Istanbul in the 24th term and for Ankara in the 25th and 26th terms of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
In the 2023 Turkish general elections, he was elected as a 28th-term member of parliament for Istanbul from the DEM Party.
