LIFE AND CAREER OF ERCAN SAATÇİ
Ercan Saatçi was born on March 13, 1968, in Istanbul. He completed his primary education at Üsküdar Zeynep Kamil Primary School. During this period, he took lessons in mandolin, accordion, and Turkish folk dances. During his high school years, he developed his musical talent by taking violin lessons from the famous violinist Sabri Süha Ansen.
In 1985, he formed a music group called Ercan-Yavuz-Vahe and won awards in various competitions with this group. In 1988, while studying in the Double Bass Department at the ITU Turkish Music State Conservatory, he earned the right to participate in the TRT Eurovision finals. That same year, he won the inter-university music competition held at ITU campuses.
In 1990, he placed third in the TRT Golden Antenna Young Composers Competition. Following this competition, he formed the group İzel-Çelik-Ercan. In the early 1990s, he founded the group Vitamin and released two albums. Following Çelik's departure from the group, he released the album "İşte Yeniden" as the duo İzel-Ercan.
In addition to his music career, Saatçi has served as a jury member in various music competitions and has appeared on screen since 2024 with the program "Çok Akustik," which airs on Kanal D.
