He retired due to the age limit. He acted in various feature films and television series, directed many plays and films, and produced documentaries.
Erol Keskin, who also served as the general artistic director at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality City Theaters, was the recipient of the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival Best Screenplay awards in 1966 and 1967; and the Best Actor awards at the 20th Istanbul Film Festival, the 12th Orhan Arıburnu Awards, and the 23rd SİYAD Turkish Cinema Awards in 2001.
In addition to these, he was chosen as the most successful actor of the year at the 8th Afife Theater Awards in 2004. In 2013, he was deemed worthy of the Muhsin Ertuğrul Special Award as part of the 17th Afife Theater Awards.
