Nevzat Aydın, the founder of Yemeksepeti, fell ill at a panel he attended in Trabzon. Observed having difficulty standing while being presented with a plaque, Nevzat Aydın was taken to the hospital by ambulance for a check-up.

WHO IS NEVZAT AYDIN?

Nevzat Aydın is the co-founder and former CEO of Yemeksepeti.com. Born in Istanbul on March 8, 1976, Aydın is 45 years old. He joined Yemeksepeti.com in 2001, assuming the position of CEO, and stepped down from his role as CEO on November 1, 2021. In 2015, he sold the company for 589 million dollars to Delivery Hero, and this transaction marked the company's largest valuation to date.

After graduating from the Boğaziçi University Department of Computer Engineering, he participated in an MBA program in Business and Economics at the University of San Francisco with a scholarship specifically for Boğaziçi graduates.

When he was just 21 years old, in his first venture, he managed to form a group of 700 people and take them to a U2 concert held in Thessaloniki, Greece. During his student years, he completed internships at many corporate firms.

While pursuing his master's degree in San Francisco, he had the opportunity to closely examine start-up ventures in Silicon Valley and focused specifically on food ordering. Deciding to develop a model tailored to Turkish consumers, he decided to launch a venture in this field. He left school 6 months before completing his MBA education and returned to Istanbul to bring this venture to life.

Nevzat Aydın left his position at Yemeksepeti, where he had served as CEO since 2001, on November 1, 2021.

In 2013 and 2015, he was ranked first on Fortune magazine's 40 Under 40 list.

Additionally, in 2020, he established the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Turkey and assumed the role of chairman of the board for this network. GEN operates in 178 different countries.
