Turkish political scientist, author, and academic Soli Özel has been one of the names frequently in the news recently. Soli Özel received his bachelor's degree in Economics from Bennington College in the USA in 1980 and completed his master's degree in International Relations at Johns Hopkins University in 1983.

WHO IS SOLİ ÖZEL?

Soli Özel was born in İzmir in 1958. After studying Economics at Bennington College, he completed his master's degree in International Relations at Johns Hopkins University. Özel, an academic of Turkish Jewish descent, specializes in Middle East politics.

Özel began his academic career at Istanbul Bilgi University, where he served as a lecturer. Writing on international relations, Özel served as the foreign news editor at Gazete Habertürk starting in 2009 and moved to Kadir Has University in 2010.
