Born in Istanbul on November 8, 1954, Ömer Aras currently serves as the President of the TÜSİAD High Advisory Council and Chairman of the Board of Directors of QNB Finansbank.
After completing his high school education at Şişli Terakki High School, he received his university education at the Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences, School of Economics and Finance.
Continuing his higher education in the USA, Aras completed his master's degree at Syracuse University in New York in 1978 and his doctorate in 1981.
Between 1982 and 1984, he continued his academic work as an assistant professor at the Ohio State University College of Administrative Sciences. Returning to Turkey in 1984, Aras married Feyza Aras in 1980 and is a father of two.

QNB Chairman of the Board Dr. Ömer Aras is one of the founding executives of Finansbank, which was established in 1987.
Serving as Executive Vice President at Finansbank between 1987 and 1989, Aras worked as General Manager (CEO) between 1989 and 1995, and assumed the role of Member of the Board of Directors between 1995 and 2006.
Appointed as Chairman of the Board of Finansbank in 2010, Aras also served as a member of the TÜSİAD Board of Directors. In addition to his current role as President of the TÜSİAD High Advisory Council, he plays an active role in various platforms as a member of the GBA Angel Investor Network, a member of the Darüşşafaka Society Advisory Board, a member of the Boğaziçi University Foundation Board of Trustees, a member of the Boğaziçi University Econfin Honorary Board, and a mentor for the Women on Board Association.
Dr. Aras, who received his MBA (1978) and PhD (1981) degrees from Syracuse University, conducted academic work as a faculty member at the Ohio State University College of Business between 1981 and 1984.
