"Why did you get married without telling us," he asked, and was killed
In Fatih, Umut Güneş, an uncle who went to speak with his niece's husband because she had married without permission, was shot and killed by the groom, Özay B., after asking, "Why did you get married without telling us?" Özay B. was arrested and sent to prison.

In an incident that took place last Thursday in Fatih Karagümrük, Umut Güneş met with the groom after hearing that his brother's daughter had married without informing him.
Güneş, who went to the meeting point with his brother, allegedly asked the groom, Özay B., "Why didn't you get our consent? You got married without telling us," which led to an argument with the groom.
Upon this, the groom, Özay B., drew the gun from his waistband and shot his wife's uncle, leaving him critically injured.
Uncle Umut Güneş, who was taken to the hospital, lost his life.
Özay B., who was taken into custody by teams from the Fatih District Police Department's Public Security Bureau, was arrested by the court and sent to prison.
