Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi has brought the Super Cup crisis to his column.

Stating that he spoke with Büyükekşi, Selvi said the idea of playing abroad originated with Büyükekşi, that Germany and England, which were initially considered, did not accept, and that the United Arab Emirates showed no interest.

According to the article, it was Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç who wanted the match to be played in Saudi Arabia.

DETAILS OF THE AGREEMENT

Selvi shared the details of the agreement, which he claims to have received from Büyükekşi..

"The Saudis initially offered 3 million dollars. In the end, an agreement was reached for 4.5 million dollars. It was decided that 20 percent of this money would go to the Football Federation, and the remaining 80 percent would be paid to Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray. An agreement was made such that the team that won the Super Cup in September would receive 60 percent of the money, and the losing team would receive 40 percent. 15-20 days ago, 1 million dollars of the money first entered the clubs' coffers, followed by 300 thousand dollars. An agreement was reached for the remainder of the money to be paid to the teams after the match."

Stating that a protocol was signed between the Football Federation and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation on October 10, Selvi also alleged that officials from the Football Federation went to Saudi Arabia 10 days before the match to hold meetings with authorities.

"ALI KOÇ WAS INSISTENT REGARDING THE ATATÜRK PORTRAIT"

Selvi also explained that during the crisis, Ali Koç insisted on taking the field in jerseys featuring Atatürk's portrait:

"While negotiations were underway in Saudi Arabia to overcome the problem, reports were circulated in Turkey that the Saudis were not allowing the Turkish flag to be unfurled or the National Anthem to be played. The Center for Combating Disinformation denied the report. Because according to the protocol signed with Saudi Arabia, the Turkish flag would be unfurled. In fact, 60 people would carry our 60-meter-long flag onto the field. Norm Ender would lead the National Anthem. The Super Cup, as well as Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray flags, would also be displayed on the field.

The Saudis did not accept this proposal. They claimed it was against FIFA rules. Ali Koç later agreed not to take the field with the 'Peace at Home, Peace in the World' banner, but insisted on taking the field in jerseys featuring Atatürk's portrait."

WILL BÜYÜKEKŞİ RESIGN?

Stating that he did not get the impression that Büyükekşi "would resign," Selvi used the expression, "I did not receive clear answers to my questions in this direction. As for Ali Koç, he is not thinking about resignation because he is walking around like a hero. After this fiasco, all three should resign."
