Will Galip Ensarioğlu resign from the AKP: 'I am thinking of leaving politics'

AKP Diyarbakır MP Galip Ensarioğlu had drawn backlash for his remarks regarding the Narin Güran murder. Most recently, Ensarioğlu announced that he was considering leaving politics. While Ensarioğlu denied the statement he made to Sözcü TV on social media, Sözcü TV published the recording of the conversation.

Regarding the murder of Narin Güran, whose lifeless body was found 19 days later in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır, his words, "There are things we sometimes don't know, and sometimes things we know but shouldn't say. Because the family are also our friends," had drawn backlash.

'THE UNCLE MAY HAVE KILLED HER'

Speaking to Serbestiyet today, Ensarioğlu said, "The fact that the headscarf was found in the house shows that Narin reached the house. Also, that day, the village youth had gone to neighboring villages to distribute invitations for a wedding that was to take place two days later. These facts bring to mind the thought that Narin may have been killed by her uncle, Salim Güran, because she saw something she 'should not have seen'."

WILL HE LEAVE POLITICS?

According to a report by Mehmet Bal from Sözcü, Ensarioğlu said, "I am thinking of leaving politics."

When asked why he wanted to leave politics, Ensarioğlu, who said, "I will rest for a while," also said regarding the Narin Güran case, "this is my final statement on this matter."

Ensarioğlu also answered the question, "did you have a meeting with your own party?" by saying, "no."

HE DENIED IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Following the news, Ensarioğlu stated the following in a post on X:

"I absolutely do not have any intention of leaving politics. On the contrary, my determination to serve my country and my nation continues to grow. I will continue on my path with confident steps, and I will spend all my energy on this path so as not to let down the trust of our people.

If you think you can keep me from my path and my cause with the dirty games you have been playing for days, the lynch mobs you have organized, and your efforts to discredit me filled with all kinds of lies and slanders that I did not mean, you are mistaken. You have shown once again how desperate you are with these events. Instead of apologizing and taking responsibility as I expected, you continue to mislead our people with slanders and distortions.

However, seeing that our people are aware of this manipulative mentality and are by my side only increases my belief in my struggle. I thank everyone who has shown support and understanding throughout this process."
