Will there be additional High-Speed Train services during the mid-term break?

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that they will add extra services to High-Speed Train (YHT) schedules for the mid-term break period, which will take place between January 18 and February 2, 2025. The Minister stated that an additional capacity of 3,288 seats will be provided in total with these extra services.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced in a written statement that they will organize additional YHT services during the mid-term break period, which covers January 18 to February 2, 2025.

Uraloğlu stated that a total of 8 additional services will be organized in both directions on the Ankara-Istanbul YHT line, where there is high passenger demand, and said, "With these additional services, we will provide a total additional capacity of 3,288 seats over 4 days. We aim to offer a safe, comfortable, and fast travel experience by meeting the increased travel demands of citizens during the mid-term break. We are providing more capacity for our passengers and facilitating their travel with our additional services. We are pleased with the intense interest our people show in our YHT services."

Providing information regarding the YHT schedules, Minister Uraloğlu stated that the additional trains departing from Ankara will set off at 09:40 and reach Istanbul Söğütlüçeşme at 14:06. Uraloğlu reported that the additional trains departing from Istanbul Söğütlüçeşme to Ankara will depart at 18:00 and arrive in Ankara at 22:38.

CAPACITY WILL BE INCREASED ON MAINLINE AND REGIONAL TRAINS

Noting that they have also taken measures for mainline and regional trains in addition to YHTs, Minister Uraloğlu said, "We will provide a daily capacity of 1,710 seats with the wagons we will add to our mainline and regional trains during the mid-term break. Thus, we will have offered our citizens 29,130 additional seats throughout the holiday."

Uraloğlu stated that wagons will be added to the Izmir Blue Train, Eastern Express, Southern/Lake Van Express, Konya Blue Train, Aegean Express, Erciyes Express, September 6 Express, September 17 Express, Pamukkale Express, Ankara Express, as well as the Uzunköprü-Halkalı Regional Train and the Edirne-Halkalı Regional Train during the mid-term break.
