Will there be penalties for bold-letter license plates?

Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi has made an important statement regarding the "bold-letter" license plates that have recently caused controversy. Minister Çiftçi stated that plates issued by the Chamber of Drivers and Automobile Manufacturers will be considered valid provided they meet certain conditions, and that no punitive action will be taken regarding these plates.

LICENSE PLATE PRINTING PROCESS AND NEW REGULATION

Reminding that the license plate printing process is determined by legislation, Çiftçi said that in addition to standard plates, those known as "bold-letter" plates will also be valid if they comply with certain criteria. Çiftçi emphasized that no punitive action will be taken regarding these plates issued by the Chamber of Drivers.

In his statement, Minister Çiftçi included the following remarks: "The Chamber of Drivers prints two types of plates; the first is a plate that complies with standards, and the second is a plate where the letters are slightly thickened but which still features the blue strip, the TR mark, the official seal, and the QR code. Provided that they are issued by the Chamber of Drivers, we will absolutely not take any action regarding them."

BOLD-LETTER PLATES TO BE CONSIDERED VALID

The Interior Minister stated that the plates in question are accepted as compliant, using the words, "These are valid; there is no problem with them."
