Will traffic fines from the holiday period be cancelled? Important statement from an expert

It has been stated that the Trafidar radar system, which was installed to prevent traffic accidents during the Eid al-Adha holiday but has issued a flood of fines to drivers, lacks international technical documentation.

Speaking to Erdoğan Süzer from Sözcü on the subject, Bilal Yeşil, a member of the Board of Directors of the Turkey Traffic Accident Prevention Association, pointed out the lack of international technical documentation for Trafidar and stated that this situation could lead to the cancellation of fines by courts. Yeşil emphasized that speeding fines should be supported by photographs, as is the case in European Union countries, and stated that Trafidar should not send seatbelt and mobile phone usage fines to drivers without conducting a preliminary review.

Yeşil provided the following information:

“The device was likely produced in compliance with TSE standards. However, that document has not been disclosed. Moreover, such devices must have an IP certificate (resistance to dust, drops, humidity, and temperature changes), an EMC certificate (indicating it is not affected by surrounding devices and does not interfere with surrounding electronic devices), and certificates showing that the rays it emits do not negatively affect living beings and nature. If these documents and certificates are missing, you cannot use that device.”

İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu reacted to the issued traffic fines, stating that these fines appear to be a trap for citizens. Dervişoğlu said, "The state should not set traps for its citizens," and claimed that the government is raining fines down on citizens to cover deficits in the treasury.
