The Istanbul Governor's Office had implemented certain transportation restrictions due to the demonstrations planned for November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

In this context, the Taksim station of the Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro Line, the Taksim exits of the Şişhane station, and the F1 Taksim-Kabataş Funicular line were closed.

Despite this, women gathered in Taksim to hold a march and make a statement. Following the statement, 13 women who were carrying an LGBTI flag or standing nearby were detained by the police.

The detained women were released during the night.
