Words of Alihan Kuriş, who shared a cell with Başaran Aksu, revealed! 'I am a leftist now too...'

Başaran Aksu, an organizing expert for the Independent Mining Workers' Union, announced that he spent three days in the same cell as Alihan Kuriş, the leader of the Süleymancı community, during their detention.

Aksu, who was released yesterday morning, shared details about his time in custody on his social media account. Aksu relayed his statements regarding his conversations with Kuriş and his observations in the cell.

HE SHARED KURIŞ'S WORDS

Aksu stated that during their conversation, Kuriş made assessments regarding Sunnism, the AKP, and the operation process, and used the following expressions:

"I stayed in the same place as Alihan Kuriş for three days. We met after the slogans that Gökay and I shouted in the cell. Although he initially opposed our thesis that Sunnism is aligned with America and Israel at the level of regimes and the ulema, he later accepted it. He said, 'We are experiencing this operation because we do not act in line with the AKP.'"

"HIS DISCIPLES TREAT HIM LIKE A PROPHET"

Aksu reported that Kuriş told him he wanted to meet and debate with them if he were released. Aksu shared the following regarding this conversation:

"When he said, 'If I get out, I want to debate and talk with you; I am a leftist now too,' we replied, 'We are not leftists; we are working-class revolutionaries.' He expressed that he knew us and respected us. His disciples treat him like a prophet even in the cell; his liquidation is inevitable. And they are aware of the situation," he said.
