The world's most powerful passports list has been updated! Where does Turkey rank?

According to the annual Henley Passport Index, the world's most powerful passports for 2024 have been announced.

The Henley Passport Index creates the "World's Most Powerful Passports" list each year by scoring countries based on how many destinations their travel documents can access without a visa or with a visa-on-arrival.

France, Germany, Italy, and Spain share the top spot along with Singapore, which held the top position in previous years.

JAPAN BACK AT THE TOP

Japan, which fell to third place in 2023, has returned to the top this year.

South Korea is in second place with visa-free access to 193 destinations, sharing the same score as Finland and Sweden.

Four European countries (Austria, Denmark, Ireland, and the Netherlands) are in third place with 192 destinations.

The United Kingdom (UK) rose two spots this year to settle in 4th place alongside Belgium, Luxembourg, Norway, and Portugal.

Greece, Malta, and Switzerland are in fifth place.

Czechia and Poland are in sixth place, sharing the same score as Australia and New Zealand.

Hungary is in seventh place, alongside Canada and the USA.

Estonia and Lithuania are in eighth place, Latvia, Slovakia, and Slovenia are in ninth place, and Iceland is in tenth place.

Other European countries in the top 20 include Cyprus and Liechtenstein (12th), Bulgaria, Croatia, and Romania (13th), Monaco (14th), and Andorra (19th).

Further down the list, a number of Balkan countries are featured, such as Ukraine in 32nd place, Serbia in 37th, North Macedonia in 45th, Montenegro in 46th, and Albania in 48th place.

TURKEY IN 52ND PLACE

While Moldova is in 49th place, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Georgia are in 50th, Turkey is in 52nd, Belarus is in 64th, Kosovo is in 68th, Azerbaijan is in 70th, and Armenia is in 74th place.
