Wounded in armed attack: Adana Metropolitan Municipality Chief of Staff passes away
The Adana Metropolitan Municipality Chief of Staff, who was critically wounded in an armed attack in his office, has passed away at the hospital where he was being treated.

The incident occurred at the Adana Metropolitan Municipality building in the Reşatbey neighborhood of the Seyhan district. According to allegations, Mikail G., an employee at the municipal-affiliated Halk Ekmek (Public Bread), went to the office of Adana Metropolitan Municipality Chief of Staff Samet Güdük to speak with him.
After an argument broke out between them, Mikail G. wounded Samet Güdük with a handgun he was carrying. After shooting Samet Güdük, Mikail G. fired several shots into the air inside the municipal building before leaving the premises. Mikail G. subsequently went to the nearby Yarbaşı Martyr Erdoğan Çıtak Police Station and surrendered.
CHIEF OF STAFF PASSES AWAY AT HOSPITAL
Upon notification, medical teams arrived at the scene and transported the critically wounded Samet Güdük to a private hospital located directly across from the municipality. Despite all interventions, Güdük could not be saved. Güdük's body was taken to the morgue of the Adana Forensic Medicine Institute.
'I WAS DEFRAUDED' IN INITIAL STATEMENT
It was learned that the suspect, Mikail G., who surrendered to the police station, stated in his initial testimony, "He defrauded me, that is why I shot him." Meanwhile, Samet Güdük's relatives were overcome with grief upon receiving the news of his death in front of the hospital.
