YARSAV Founding President Eminağaoğlu: Ethnic parties want a return to the model that existed before the Republic was founded

Describing the current situation as continuing to play out the Greater Middle East Project (BOP) under different names, Eminağaoğlu evaluated the debates on 'Is there a Kurdish issue in Turkey?' in his article on the Medyasiyaset website.

YARSAV Founding President Eminağaoğlu made the following assessment regarding the events on the agenda:

The Kurdish issue in Turkey, without going into details, has reached a point today where the existence of ethnic parties and the problems created by their existence, the terror problem, the BOP problem, and the problem of imperialism have become the focus. Those who highlight these have moved away from the real problems of the country and the people.

Ethnic parties are silent on issues such as secularism, feudalism, religious orders, and communities.

They are silent on national days and holidays, etc.

They reject the Treaty of Lausanne.

They do not set foot in Anıtkabir.

They do not celebrate the Republic Day, the only national holiday; they do not see themselves as part of the nation and maintain a distance from the Republic.

They do not embrace the problems experienced by everyone in every region of the country.

Ethnic parties want education in the mother tongue, two official languages, two peoples, equal citizenship, autonomy for local governments, the validity of the understanding in the 1921 (Provisional) Constitution, and in this light, they want a return to the model that existed before the Republic was founded.

Ethnic parties are parties that lack ideology, are based on sub-identities, and therefore include everyone—right-wingers, left-wingers, progressives, reactionaries, conservatives, liberals, socialists, etc.

The real problem of citizens of Kurdish origin is that ethnic parties now stand as an obstacle before them, distracting them from their real problems such as unemployment, deprivation, poverty, development, and education.

This is a problem that could be resolved by making certain legislative changes originating from the September 12 era (for example, Article 81 of Law No. 2820) and certain legislative changes originating from the AKP (such as appointing trustees to municipalities). It is the government's problem of not allocating resources...

First of all, it must be stated that there is absolutely no need for a constitutional amendment on the issues referred to as the Kurdish question. The demands are already contrary to the essence of the unchangeable articles of the Constitution.

There is one nation, one citizenship. Equal citizenship is contrary to the unchangeable provisions of the Constitution. It is not equal citizenship, but citizenship within equality.

Two peoples, autonomy, and two official languages are contrary to the unchangeable provisions of the Constitution.

CURRENTLY; Kurdish newspaper and TV broadcasting, and Kurdish elective courses are free. The metropolitan municipality practice is even beyond the European Charter of Local Self-Government...

Just as the death penalty was abolished, the right to hope should also be introduced.

Öcalan was tried and sentenced for crimes committed before 1999. While in prison, an investigation should also be opened against him for the crime of managing an organization committed after 1999, and he should be "arrested" for that investigation.

Regarding Demirtaş and DEM, fair trial rules must be observed.

To say PKK does not mean to say Kurdish movement; it means to say the USA.

Those who talk about a Kurdish issue should clearly name their demands and list these demands one by one...
