Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler announced that the Turkish Armed Forces are ready for duty in Gaza.
Minister Güler made a written statement regarding the NATO Defense Ministers Meeting held at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels.
Expressing satisfaction with the ceasefire achieved in Gaza, Güler expressed his hope that this ceasefire would be the beginning of a fair, two-state solution.
THE TAF IS READY FOR DUTY IN GAZA
Emphasizing that the Turkish Armed Forces are ready to take part in a multinational task force to be formed in Gaza, Güler said, "In these meetings, which we have attended as a NATO ally for over 70 years, we have conveyed our national positions and assessments to our counterparts on a wide spectrum ranging from issues on the alliance's agenda to regional issues and European security."
BILATERAL RELATIONS
Touching upon the meetings held within the scope of the summit, Minister Güler stated, "On the occasion of the meetings, we held bilateral talks with the NATO Secretary General and the UK Secretary of State for Defence, and trilateral talks with the Defense Ministers of Romania and Bulgaria, where we discussed opportunities to improve bilateral and multilateral relations and cooperation."
Stating that they signed the "Letter of Intent for the Fires Excellence Center" and the "Memorandum of Understanding for the Distributed Synthetic Training High Visibility Project" with the ministers of allied countries, Güler added, "We also visited our Permanent Representation and the Turkish Military Representative Delegation serving at the NATO Headquarters."
