Yemeksepeti couriers decide to take action! They will strike for three days for the right to work with dignity

Labor Party (EMEP) Deputy Chairperson and Gaziantep MP Sevda Karaca announced on her social media account that she supports the strike decision of Yemeksepeti couriers. In her statement, Karaca emphasized that the couriers have long been demanding the provision of their fundamental rights, such as fair wages, a transparent bonus system, safe working conditions, and participation in decision-making mechanisms.

Karaca stated the following in her post:

"Yemeksepeti couriers will shut down their engines on January 18-19-20 with the demand for a life and working conditions worthy of human dignity! The demands that motorized courier workers have been voicing for months are extremely clear: Transparent pricing, an accessible bonus system, a fair distance-to-wage balance, safe working conditions, and participation in decision-making processes. In response, the attitude of the bosses is just as clear: Ignoring, stalling, and continuing to impose. Platform companies are trying to condemn workers to precariousness by using technology as a shield.

The order imposed on motorized couriers today is intended to become the 'normal' for the entire service sector tomorrow. That is why the struggle of courier workers is not a singular workplace issue. This is an open class struggle waged against the devaluation of labor. Motorized courier workers are not alone. We will amplify the voice they raise on January 18-19-20. We, too, will voice their demands as loudly as possible in every field of struggle we are in."

The couriers state that with their three-day work stoppage, they are demanding better conditions not only for their own rights but for all workers in the service sector. As Karaca emphasized, this struggle is seen as a step toward protecting workers' rights and redefining the value of labor, beyond being an individual strike.
