Yemeksepeti's payment institution receives operating license

Yemekpay, the payment institution of Turkey's largest online food ordering platform Yemeksepeti, has received its operating license. With the decision published in the Official Gazette, payment accounts can now be opened at Yemekpay Elektronik Para ve Ödeme Hizmetleri A.Ş., and funds can be deposited into or withdrawn from these accounts as necessary.

The Official Gazette has announced that Yemekpay, the payment institution of Yemeksepeti, has been granted an operating license. It had previously been announced that Serkan Yazıcıoğlu, Vice Chairman of the Interbank Card Center Market Development Committee, would be appointed as the general manager of the fintech company at Yemeksepeti.

As a result of the efforts by Yazıcıoğlu and his team, the subsidiary named "Yemekpay" has succeeded in obtaining an operating license.

With the decision published in the Official Gazette, payment accounts can now be opened at Yemekpay Elektronik Para ve Ödeme Hizmetleri A.Ş., and funds can be deposited into or withdrawn from these accounts as necessary.

The statement in the Official Gazette is as follows:

"As a result of the evaluation conducted within the scope of Articles 14, 15, 18, and 19 of the Law on Payment and Securities Settlement Systems, Payment Services, and Electronic Money Institutions (Law) No. 6493, dated 20/6/2013;

It has been decided to grant an operating license to Yemekpay Elektronik Para ve Ödeme Hizmetleri A.Ş. as an electronic money institution to provide the payment services specified in clauses (a), (b), and (c) of the first paragraph of Article 12 of the Law, as well as the electronic money issuance service specified in the second paragraph of Article 18 of the Law."
