YENİ Party Manisa Provincial Chair İlksen Özalper has been detained as part of an investigation into a criminal organization for profit and bribery conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
A new detention order was executed in the investigation, which was initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and later transferred to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office due to jurisdiction. As part of the investigation, YENİ Party Manisa Provincial Chair İlksen Özalper was detained. It was learned that Özalper will be taken to Ankara to provide a statement following processing at the police station.
Within the scope of the investigation, proceedings were previously initiated against Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Presidential Advisor Demirhan Gözaçan, his driver Anıl Demir, and Şehzadeler A.Ş. General Manager Cem Yüzer.
In the investigation conducted in line with the statements given by suspended Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım under effective remorse provisions, as well as MASAK reports and HTS records, Gözaçan was arrested on charges of "membership in a criminal organization for profit" and "bribery." As part of the same investigation, Anıl Demir and Cem Yüzer were also arrested by the court they were brought before.
BAKIRLIOĞLU ANNOUNCED THE DETENTION ORDER
Bakırlıoğlu reacted to the decision with the words, "We know what the goal is, we are aware of the dirty game."
YENİ Party Manisa Provincial Chair İlksen Özalper was detained. The investigation marks the first operation carried out against the YENİ Party since its establishment.
Reacting to the detention order, Bakırlıoğlu included the following statements in his post:
"First Demirhan, then Cem and Anıl, and now İlksen Özalper... We know what the goal is, we are aware of the dirty game. Our struggle will continue until the end. Chair İlksen is not alone."
