AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed a decree published in the Official Gazette, which includes the Niğde-Pozantı Highway, the Gaziantep Beltway, and the section of the Bursa Beltway between the Çağlayan Junction and the Yenişehir Junction, all under the responsibility of the General Directorate of Highways, in the scope of privatization. The decree sets the duration of the privatization contracts at 30 years.

YENİ Party Zonguldak MP and spokesperson for the TBMM State Economic Enterprises (KİT) Commission, Deniz Yavuzyılmaz, reacted to the decision and drew attention to the scope of the regulation.

According to Yavuzyılmaz's post, the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, and the following highways are included in the 30-year privatization plan:

  • KGM European Highway
  • KGM Anatolian Highway
  • Izmir-Aydın Highway
  • Izmir-Çeşme Highway
  • Niğde-Mersin-Adana (West) Highway
  • Adana (East)-Gaziantep (West) Highway
  • Gaziantep (East)-Şanlıurfa Highway
  • Toprakkale-Iskenderun Highway

In addition, the section of the Bursa Beltway between the Çağlayan Junction and the Yenişehir Junction, as well as the Gaziantep Beltway, are also included in the scope.

HE ALSO DREW ATTENTION TO THE 2010 DECISION

In his post, Yavuzyılmaz cited the Official Gazette dated September 5, 2026, as well as the Official Gazette dated October 20, 2010, as sources. He pointed out that the bridges and highways included in the privatization scope in 2010 are also part of the current scope.

"TOTAL 30-YEAR PROFIT IS 18 BILLION DOLLARS"

Yavuzyılmaz wrote that the total profit for 2025 for the 2 bridges and 8 highways operated by the state is 600 million dollars, and the total profit over 30 years is 18 billion dollars.

Reacting to the privatization, Yavuzyılmaz stated that the costs of these assets were covered years ago by citizens' taxes, adding, "This is called selling Turkey's future!"

The full text of Yavuzyılmaz's post is as follows:

"The AKP's plan of betrayal against the public has been published in the Official Gazette!

By presidential decree;

A decision has been made to privatize 2 Bosphorus Bridges, 8 Highways, and 2 Beltways for 30 years.

Those included in the privatization program

Bridges

1. 15 July Martyrs Bridge

2. Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge

Highways

1. KGM European Highway

2. KGM Anatolian Highway

3. Izmir-Aydın Highway

4. Izmir-Çeşme Highway

5. Niğde-Mersin-Adana (West) Highway

6. Adana (East)-Gaziantep (West) Highway

7. Gaziantep (East)-Şanlıurfa Highway

8. Toprakkale-Iskenderun Highway

Beltways

1. Bursa Beltway

(Çağlayan junction-Yenişehir junction)

2. Gaziantep Beltway

For the 2 Bosphorus Bridges and 8 Highways operated by the state as toll roads;

Total profit for 2025 is 600 Million Dollars

Total profit for 30 years is 18 Billion Dollars!

At the current exchange rate, 871 Billion 920 Million Lira!

Privatizing these bridges, highways, and beltways, whose costs were paid for years ago with citizens' taxes and which the state operates with high profit, is a betrayal of the citizens.

The companies that will operate these roads through privatization will raise vehicle toll fees repeatedly over the next 30 years.

This is called selling Turkey's future!

Abandon this privatization decision immediately!
