Yeni Şafak claimed he 'targeted' them, Özdağ's response was swift: 'It is the publication organ of the Society of the Friends of England'

Victory Party (Zafer Partisi) Chairman Ümit Özdağ responded harshly on social media to a report by the pro-government Yeni Şafak newspaper, which claimed that "Ümit Özdağ is behind the attacks on Syrians in Kayseri."

ACCUSATION OF RACISM

The following statements were included in the Yeni Şafak report:

"Street incidents that broke out in Kayseri after a Syrian national allegedly molested a 7-year-old Syrian child continue to remain on the agenda. In the city, where streets turned into a battlefield, nearly 400 homes, workplaces, and vehicles belonging to foreigners were damaged. It is being investigated who directed the provocateurs who organized via WhatsApp and Telegram and began organized attacks against Syrians on June 30. While the investigation continues, it was determined that Victory Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ, who fuels hatred and racism against foreigners, shared a video specifically about Kayseri on April 27.

It was determined that the individual named 'Oğuzhan Kumpınar,' who filmed the video in question, conducted street interviews on social media platforms such as X, TikTok, and YouTube under the names 'Hastrol TV' and 'TrolTürkBey.' In the videos, the individual, seen wearing glasses and a keffiyeh, is observed filming and publishing content that fuels racism. It was seen that the individual, who frequently shares posts from the Victory Party Kayseri Provincial Presidency and the Istanbul Kadıköy organization, also visited party buildings. Posts about Ümit Özdağ stand out on all of the individual's social media platforms."

'YENİ ŞAFAK IS THE MEDIA TOOL OF A TRAP SET TO DRAG OUR COUNTRY INTO CIVIL WAR'

While reacting harshly to the report, Özdağ shared a video on social media and stated the following:

"Yeni Şafak is one of the primary defenders of the DEMOGRAPHIC RAPE directed at Turkey.

It SHAMELESSLY advocates for 13 million refugees and illegal migrants to remain in our country and for new ones to arrive.

Yeni Şafak is the media tool of a trap set to drag our country, which is designed for the establishment of a greater Kurdistan, into civil war.

Yeni Şafak, which is hostile to Atatürk and the national, unitary, secular Turkish state, sees Ümit Özdağ, a soldier of Atatürk, and the Victory Party, Atatürk's party, as natural enemies. It is right about this.

The Victory Party also sees the Yeni Şafak newspaper as a publication organ hostile to Turkey. For the Victory Party, Yeni Şafak is the publication organ of the Society of the Friends of England.

Two months ago, a local YouTube channel in Kayseri had published footage from a neighborhood where Syrians are concentrated. I had reshared this X message on social media.

Of course, the people of Kayseri who don't know Kayseri, who don't know who lives where in their own neighborhoods, and who don't recognize their own neighborhoods, identified where the Syrians lived from the video I reshared and raided the houses and shops(!)
