Yerlikaya announces: 68 lives lost during the holiday

Announcing that 68 people have lost their lives in accidents during the first 8 days of the Eid al-Adha holiday, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya issued warnings to citizens who will be hitting the road.

In a statement on his social media account, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya stated that police and gendarmerie traffic units are continuing their inspections and radar speed checks 24 hours a day without interruption.


Stating that 706 traffic accidents occurred yesterday during the holiday, Yerlikaya reported that 6 people lost their lives and 1,097 people were injured.

Yerlikaya reported that out of 405,088 vehicles inspected yesterday, 22,975 were processed for speed and radar violations, and 37,590 were processed for other violations.

68 LIVES LOST

Noting that a total of 68 people have lost their lives and 9,787 people have been injured in traffic accidents that occurred during the 8 days of the holiday, Yerlikaya wished God's mercy upon those who lost their lives.
