Yerlikaya announces: Illegal betting operation in 7 provinces

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 48 suspects identified as being involved in illegal betting and qualified fraud were apprehended as part of the "SIBERAG-10" operations conducted across 7 provinces. Following the operations in these 7 provinces, 23 individuals have been arrested.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced via his social media account that 48 suspects identified as being involved in qualified fraud and illegal betting crimes were apprehended as part of the "SIBERAG-10" operations. Of the 48 suspects taken into custody during the operations carried out in Antalya, Konya, Manisa, Giresun, Mersin, Van, and Sakarya, 23 were arrested and sent to prison, while judicial control measures were imposed on 17 individuals. It was learned that proceedings for the remaining suspects are ongoing. 

Examinations revealed a total transaction volume of 225 million TL in the suspects' accounts. 

The charges against the apprehended suspects are as follows: 

Committing fraud through investment promises on social media,

Committing fraud through fake second-hand goods listings, vacation packages, airline tickets, and accommodation services online,

Promoting illegal betting and sharing advertisements.

Unlicensed firearms, hunting rifles, computers, phones, portable memory devices, and bank/credit cards were seized during the operation.

'SIMILAR OPERATIONS WILL CONTINUE' 

In his statement, Minister Yerlikaya said; "Our virtual patrols are on duty 24/7 for our security in the cyber world. Our fight against digital crimes will continue with determination" he stated.
