Yıldıray Erol, who was critically injured in the traffic rampage in Avcılar, has died

In the incident that occurred yesterday around 15:15 on the E-5 highway side road in Avcılar, a Moroccan-born US citizen named Nassim D. began to flee after crashing into several vehicles with a car he had stolen.

Nassim D., whose path citizens tried to block along the road, continued his escape by crashing into a total of 14 vehicles instead of stopping. Citizens attempted to stop the individual and tried to beat him, but were unsuccessful.

ONE OF THE INJURED HAS DIED

Four people who were injured as a result of the collisions during the incident were taken to the hospital by ambulance. Yıldıray Erol, who was taken to the hospital in critical condition, could not be saved despite all interventions and has died. The treatment of the other 3 injured individuals is ongoing.

Nassim D. was taken into custody as a result of a successful pursuit by police teams on the Yenibosna E-5 highway. While the individual's processing at the police station continues, details of the incident have also begun to emerge.

In the footage, it is seen that the suspect, who came to the dealership as a customer, negotiated with the sales representative and then stole the vehicle by taking advantage of the representative moving away.
