Yılmaz Tunç had called it 'pirated': The expert report shared by Özgür Özel is now in the AKP's parliamentary motion

The AKP has submitted a research motion to the Speaker of the TBMM regarding the hotel fire in Bolu, in which 78 citizens lost their lives and 51 people were injured.

It has emerged that the motion references the preliminary expert report that CHP leader Özgür Özel shared with the public following the disaster. Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç had used the term 'pirated text' for the report in question.

According to the report by Veli Toprak from Sözcü, the motion, which was submitted to the Speaker of the TBMM under the signature of Group Chairman Abdullah Güler and is expected to be discussed in the General Assembly today, stated the following regarding the experts:

“Immediately following the disaster, six public prosecutors were assigned, and an expert committee of seven people was formed, consisting of one occupational safety specialist, two mechanical engineers, two architects, one civil engineer, and one electrical-electronics engineer, to examine the scene. Work regarding the cause of the incident is ongoing, and according to the initial findings by the expert and crime scene investigation teams, it is assessed that the wooden cladding on the interior and exterior of the building caused the fire to grow rapidly and engulf the entire structure.”

The expert committee in question includes 7 people: Sedat Altındaş, Adnan Yalçındağ, Ömer Taş, Fazıl Şolpan, Hasan Uygur, Alper Kodaz, and Cem Gül, consisting of mechanical, civil, and electrical engineers, as well as an architect and an occupational safety specialist. This team was the one that conducted the initial preliminary examination, findings, and analysis regarding the hotel where the fire occurred.
