Young man who couldn't become a district governor becomes a shepherd

In Artvin, Mustafa Özer (32), who chased the dream of becoming a district governor, returned to his hometown to work as a shepherd after he could not realize his dream. Having graduated from the Political Science and Public Administration departments in Ankara, Özer completed his second university degree in Sociology and received language training abroad for 6 months. After being eliminated in the interview stage of the exam he took for the district governorship, he returned to the Yusufeli district of Artvin and began to engage in agriculture and animal husbandry. In his animal husbandry journey, which he started with 12 sheep in 2020, he increased his flock to 100 sheep within 4 years.

Currently, Mustafa Özer, who grazes his sheep on the Çamlıbel Plateau at an altitude of 2,100 meters in the village of Çevreli, emphasized that he has not given up on his dream of becoming a district governor. At the same time, he continues his education by preparing for the district governorship exams. "I was born in Ankara. I am a graduate of Political Science and Public Administration, and I also graduated from the Sociology department. I received English language training abroad for 6 months. My biggest dream was to become a district governor; however, it was not meant to be. I returned to my village with a love for my homeland. I have a great passion for agriculture and animal husbandry. I bought my tractor in 2019, and I continue the animal husbandry I started with 12 sheep in 2020 with around 100 sheep today," he said.

In addition to animal husbandry, Mustafa Özer interacts with the local people and aims to be an example to young farmers and entrepreneurs. In this process, he both continues his animal husbandry activities and moves forward with determination on the path to reaching his education and goals. Özer's story emphasizes the importance of chasing one's dreams and the value of moving forward with perseverance despite difficulties.
