Young woman brutally murdered on Valentine's Day turns out to be a 'hitman': 'She shot me while I was showering'

On February 14, Yaşar Bulut (20) went to the Adana Police Department's Public Security Branch Homicide Bureau and confessed to killing his girlfriend, İpek Akgül (19), claiming she had cheated on him, and reported that he had buried her in an orange grove.

Yaşar Bulut was taken into custody by teams from the Homicide Bureau. The teams then launched an operation to find İpek Akgül's body.

The Homicide Bureau teams tracked the coordinates of the car rented by Yaşar Bulut via GPS and determined that İpek Akgül was in an orchard in the Asmalı neighborhood of Yumurtalık district. A cadaver dog named 'Asena' found İpek's buried body during a search of the orchard.

“THEY TORTURED HER AND THEN SHOT HER WITH A PISTOL”

An autopsy performed on İpek Akgül at the Adana Forensic Medicine Institute morgue revealed that on February 11, she was first tortured to the point of death, resulting in broken arms and ribs, and was then killed by being shot in various parts of her body with a pistol.

Akgül's funeral was held with tears at the Yeşiloba Cemetery in the Seyhan district.

“POLICE DETERMINED İPEK WAS A HITMAN”

A special team from the Homicide Bureau continued its efforts to solve İpek Akgül's murder without pause.

During the investigation, they determined that three days prior, İpek had come from İzmir, met with E.A. (22) whom she had connected with on social media, and shot him three times with a pistol while he was showering in his home before fleeing. E.A., who was discharged after treatment, stated in his testimony: "We met on the internet, got close, and met at my house. For no reason, she shot me while I was taking a shower."

“THE MASTERMINDS BEHIND İPEK'S MURDER COULD NOT ESCAPE THE SPECIAL HOMICIDE TEAM”

The special team established at the Homicide Bureau determined through an examination of the City Security Management System (KGYS) and the License Plate Recognition System (PTS) that İpek was not alone in the car on the night she was killed.

Investigating the incident in depth, the police determined that İpek's ex-boyfriend Ahmet Albayrak (27) and his friend Mehmet Görgün (26) were in the car on the night of the murder.

Under interrogation, the killer Yaşar Bulut said, "Actually, I don't know the girl. İpek's real boyfriend Ahmet and his friend Mehmet were with me. They wanted me to kill the girl. They told me they would take care of me in prison."

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that Ahmet Albayrak and Mehmet Görgün had hired İpek as a hitman because they wanted to kill E.A., with whom they had a feud.

It was stated that when E.A. survived the attack, the suspects realized their plan would be exposed, so they met with İpek under the pretext that "The police are looking for you. We will hide you," and had Bulut kill her.

“SUSPECTS CAPTURED IN AN OPERATION AT THEIR HOMES”

Police from the Homicide Bureau captured Ahmet Albayrak and Mehmet Görgün in an operation conducted at two different houses in the Beyazevler neighborhood of the Çukurova district.

The killer Yaşar Bulut's brother, Aziz Bulut (23), was also taken into custody for hiding his brother.

The suspects Ahmet Albayrak and Mehmet Görgün, who were taken to the police station, blamed each other during their interrogations and claimed that they were not the ones who ordered the wounding of E.A. or the murder of İpek.

After their procedures at the police station, all 4 individuals were referred to the courthouse and were arrested by the court.
