A protocol crisis occurred during the Provincial Coordination Meeting held at the Şanlıurfa Governorate Conference Hall.

The name of YRP Şanlıurfa Mayor Kasım Gülpınar was removed from the protocol table where Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum was also seated.

Şanlıurfa Governor Hasan Şıldak, TOKİ President Mustafa Levent Sungur, and AKP deputies Cevahir Asuman Yazmacı and Mehmet Ali Cevheri sat next to Kurum.

Yeniden Refah Party (YRP) Deputy Chairman Suat Kılıç reacted to the 'discrimination' against Kasım Gülpınar. In a statement on his X account, Kılıç expressed the following:

"The removal of our Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Mayor Mr. Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar's name from the dais the moment he entered the hall during the Provincial Coordination Meeting held in Şanlıurfa with the participation of the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mr. Murat Kurum is a state of 'complete lawlessness' that pushes boundaries. It is an act of disregarding the state, institutions, and the legal system. While the CHP Mayor was included in the dais as he should have been in Adıyaman the day before, the exclusion of Şanlıurfa and the people of Şanlıurfa in the person of the Metropolitan Mayor from this meeting held under the same content and title the next day is an unacceptable situation. We hope that Ankara will not remain indifferent to this disrespect, lawlessness, and primitiveness, and will not be content with just watching another case of disregarding democracy and hopelessness. Despite everything, we express our gratitude to our Yeniden Refah Party Mayor Mr. Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar, who did not leave the hall, stood up for the rights of Şanlıurfa, and voiced his reaction with the utmost seriousness and courtesy of a statesman, for the stance he displayed against the primitiveness of removing his name from the dais. As Gülpınar said there, 'Just because you ignore something does not mean it does not exist...'"
