YSK makes decisions on objections regarding 13 district elections

The Supreme Election Council (YSK) has reached a decision on objections filed regarding elections in a total of 13 districts: Şanlıurfa's Hilvan, Istanbul's Arnavutköy, Afyonkarahisar's Emirdağ, Hakkari's Çukurca, Adana's Yüreğir, Adana's Pozantı, Bursa's Kestel, Giresun's Tirebolu, Gaziantep's Oğuzeli, Hatay's Arsuz, Bingöl's Yedisu, İzmir's Buca, and Kars Central.

Following the March 31 Local Elections, political parties' objections continue to be evaluated by the Supreme Election Council (YSK).

Within the framework of the objection process, the Supreme Election Council evaluated the election objections filed by political parties at 14:00. During the board meeting, which lasted approximately 3 hours, objections regarding a total of 13 district elections were reviewed.

As a result of the decisions made, it was decided to repeat the elections in the Hilvan district of Şanlıurfa.

The objections filed regarding the district elections and the decisions are as follows:

“In the Emirdağ district of Afyonkarahisar, the CHP's request to 'overturn the provincial election board's decision regarding the recount of invalid votes' was rejected.

In the Arnavutköy district of Istanbul, the CHP's request to 'recount the votes regarding the district mayoral election' was rejected.

In the Hilvan district of Şanlıurfa, the DEM Party's request to 'overturn the decision made regarding the cancellation of the district municipal elections' was rejected.

In the Çukurca district of Hakkari, the DEM Party's request to 'order a recount of the votes' was rejected.

In the Yüreğir district of Adana, the AK Party's request to 'recount the invalid ballots regarding the mayoral and municipal council membership elections' was rejected.

In the Pozantı district of Adana, the CHP's request for 'the cancellation of the election and a recount of the votes' was rejected.

In the Kestel district of Bursa, the New Welfare Party's (Yeniden Refah Partisi) request to 'recount the invalid votes' was rejected.

In the Tirebolu district of Giresun, the CHP's request to 'recount the invalid votes in the provincial general assembly membership election' was rejected.

In the Oğuzeli district of Gaziantep, the New Welfare Party's 'request to recount the votes' was rejected.

In the Arsuz district of Hatay, the Great Unity Party's (Büyük Birlik Partisi) request to 'order the cancellation of the mayoral election' was rejected.

In the Yedisu district of Bingöl, the MHP's request to 'conduct a recount and retabulation' was rejected.

In the Buca district of İzmir, the AK Party's 'request to recount the votes' was rejected.

In the Kars Central district, the DEM Party's request to 'order the cancellation of the elections held' was rejected.”
