YSK publishes finalized candidate lists
The Supreme Election Council (YSK) has published the finalized candidate lists for the Local Administration General Elections to be held on March 31 on its website.

According to the list, Istanbul is the province where the most candidates will compete for the Metropolitan Municipality Mayoralty, with a total of 49 candidates, 22 from political parties and 27 independent.
For the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayoralty, a total of 29 candidates, 26 from political parties and 3 independent, will compete, while 28 candidates, 23 from political parties and 5 independent, will compete for the Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Mayoralty.
While a total of 24 candidates, 19 from political parties and 5 independent, will participate in the election for the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayoralty, a total of 27 candidates, 21 from political parties and 6 independent, were included in the list for the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayoralty.
HAD BEEN ANNOUNCED BY ELECTION BOARDS
There are no independent candidates for the Metropolitan Municipality mayoralties of Erzurum, Manisa, and Şanlıurfa.
In the town of Hilal in the Uludere district of Şırnak, only Cevher Benek from the AKP is running as a candidate.
While there is only one candidate from the AKP for the municipal council membership in the town of Hilal in the Uludere district of Şırnak and the town of Akıncılar in the Kahta district of Adıyaman, there is only one candidate from the CHP for the municipal council membership in the town of Gölgeli in the Almus district of Tokat.
The final lists regarding the political parties and independent candidates who can participate in the Local Administration General Elections to be held on Sunday, March 31, 2024, had been announced by provincial and district election boards on March 3.
