YTP Chairman Yılmaz calls for update on 'tea purchase price'

The 2024 fresh tea purchase price was set at 17 lira per kilogram, with a support payment of 2 lira provided to producers. YTP Chairman Ahmet Reyiz Yılmaz made a statement regarding the tea purchase price. 

Stating that tea is an indispensable product produced under difficult conditions, from its cultivation and harvesting to its transportation, Yılmaz said, "Tea producers must be subsidized in every way. As one of the people who knows the conditions in Rize best, I would like to say that the pleasure of tea, which is sipped with enjoyment at every hour of the day all over the country, should not spoil the producer's pleasure. 

The price of this product, which has the most difficult geographical conditions to reach the tea collection point, regardless of rain, mud, streams, or hills, should be calculated by taking into account all these conditions and the sacrifices made by the producer's health. We desire the announced price to be updated to 35 TL per kilogram," he said.
