Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ had announced that they would form a 'Nationalist Front' alliance with the IYI Party.
Zafer Party Deputy Chairman Nazif Okumuş made evaluations regarding the alliance on Halk TV.
"IT WOULD BE WRONG TO FIELD A CANDIDATE AGAINST THE CHP"
When asked whether they would field a joint candidate with the IYI Party in the general elections, Okumuş responded by saying, "It would be wrong to field a candidate against the CHP," and added:
"This is just a political election alliance. It is about nationalists coming together and reflecting a unity of will. This is for the general elections, but there is no search for a presidential candidate at the moment. A search for a candidate may be a matter for later."
"If the Republican People's Party (CHP) fields a candidate, fielding a candidate against them would mean losing this race in advance; let's not fool ourselves."
Stating that they have no intention of offering a candidacy to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, Okumuş also said that they could support Yavaş if he were to become a candidate.
