Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ introduced his party's candidate for the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality mayoralty in a statement made in front of the 1st TBMM building (War of Independence Museum) in Ulus.
Özdağ announced that economist Bartu Soral is the candidate for the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality mayoralty.
Days before Özdağ's statement, 12punto.com.tr had announced Soral's candidacy.

Özdağ said, "Mr. Bartu is an experienced economist. As a development economist who has managed the development programs of many countries in the field of development economics, and as a project-oriented person, he is one of the individuals who best represents the political vision of the Zafer Party. As a result of the experience he has gained throughout his long professional life, his knowledge of how to better manage Ankara, his ability to make it a center of economic attraction, and his close familiarity with international markets, he is marching towards the elections with a portfolio of projects that will be able to transfer efficient resources to Ankara."
