Zelenskyy and Trump meet at the Vatican: 'It could be a historic moment'

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made statements regarding his meeting with former US President Donald Trump at the Vatican. Zelenskyy stated that the issue of a full and unconditional ceasefire to end the war was on the table.

THEY MET BEFORE THE POPE'S FUNERAL CEREMONY 

In a written statement on his Telegram account, Zelenskyy recalled that the meeting took place before the funeral ceremony of Pope Francis, the spiritual leader of Catholics and Head of State of the Vatican, in the Vatican.

''WE HAD A VERY GOOD MEETING''

Zelenskyy described his meeting with Trump as a "good meeting." Noting that the two leaders discussed many important topics, Zelenskyy emphasized that they exchanged views, particularly on ending the war and taking concrete steps to prevent the recurrence of conflicts in the region.

Drawing attention to the importance of the meeting, Zelenskyy stated that the goal is to achieve a full and unconditional ceasefire and to establish a lasting, reliable environment of peace. Furthermore, Zelenskyy remarked, "If we achieve joint results, this meeting has the potential to carry historic significance."
