WHEN WILL THE BIRTH GRANT BE DEPOSITED?
Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş stated that they had received approximately 170 thousand applications for the birth grant and announced that payments would begin to be transferred to mothers' accounts as of May. It was stated that for children born after January 1, a one-time support of 5,000 TL will be provided for the first child, 1,500 TL per month for the second child, and 5,000 TL per month for the third child.
President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his speech at the International Family Forum, touched upon the birth grant payment date and announced that the payments for 2025 would be carried out on May 28.
The birth grant payments to be made within the scope of the "Year of the Family" will be deposited into the accounts of the beneficiaries as of Wednesday, May 28.
BIRTH GRANT CONDITIONS
In order to benefit from the birth grant offered for children born alive on or after January 1, 2025;
It is required that the mother, father, or both be Turkish citizens, that the family resides in Turkey, that the application is made accurately and completely to the relevant official institutions, and that the birth grant procedures are followed through the system.
The birth grant application can be made after the child's registration in the Identity Sharing System (KPS) is completed.
It is mandatory for the application to be made within 12 months from the date of birth for the first child, and before the child reaches the age of 5 for other children.
If both the mother and father are deceased, the application can be made by the child's legal representative.
During the application, the Turkish Republic identity numbers of the mother, father, the child for whom the grant is requested, and other children if any, a declaration of accuracy, and additional information that may be requested by the Ministry are required.
HOW MUCH IS THE BIRTH GRANT PAYMENT?
The regulation regarding the birth grant has been published in the Official Gazette and has entered into force. According to the regulation, a one-time payment of 5,000 TL will be made for the first child, 1,500 TL per month for the second child, and 5,000 TL per month for the third and subsequent children.
These payments will be carried out through the Social Assistance and Solidarity Promotion Fund without being subject to any taxes or deductions. The resources of the Social Assistance and Solidarity Promotion Fund will be used for birth grant payments without requiring a condition of financial need.
