25 percent hike in electricity and natural gas prices

Electricity and natural gas prices have been increased by 25 percent. The new tariffs will be effective starting tomorrow.

The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) has announced that electricity and natural gas prices have been increased, effective from tomorrow.

The following statement was made by EMRA:

"Due to the increase in electricity generation and distribution costs, final retail electricity sales prices have been increased by 25% for the residential subscriber group, 17.5% for the public and private services sector subscriber group connected to low voltage, 5.8% for the industrial subscriber group connected to medium voltage, and 24.8% for the agricultural activities subscriber group connected to medium voltage.

With this increase, the amount to be paid for a residential subscriber with 100 kWh of electricity consumption has become 323.8 TL.

In light of the natural gas wholesale prices announced by BOTAŞ on its website, there is an average increase of 25% for residential consumers (domestic consumers), 18.61% for industrial consumers, and 19.42% for electricity generation plants in final natural gas sales prices. Additionally, a tiered pricing system has been implemented for residential consumers (domestic consumers).

The tariffs will be effective as of April 4, 2026."
