5 different scenarios for a mid-year minimum wage hike: Here are the figures on the table...

Employees are eagerly awaiting a possible hike in the minimum wage in July. Whether the net minimum wage of 22,104 TL, set in January, will increase in the second half of the year is a major topic of curiosity.

The minimum wage determined at the beginning of 2025 has lost its purchasing power in the face of rising inflation. This situation has brought the possibility of a mid-year hike in July to the agenda. While adjustments are expected for civil servant and retiree salaries in July, whether a similar increase will occur for the minimum wage is being debated.

AKP Group Chairman Abdullah Güler stated that there is no clear study on a minimum wage hike yet. Güler said, "An evaluation will be made under the leadership of our Minister of Finance and our Minister of Labor. It is not possible to say anything definitive for now."

NOT DONE LAST YEAR

The fact that no mid-year hike was made last July has increased expectations for this year. The decision the government will make will be evaluated in conjunction with economic conditions and inflation figures.

POSSIBLE HIKE SCENARIOS

Possible hike rates for the minimum wage have begun to be discussed in the public eye. If the government decides on an increase in July, the new salaries could be as follows:

  • 10% hike: 24,314 TL
  • 15% hike: 25,419 TL
  • 20% hike: 26,524 TL
  • 25% hike: 27,630 TL
  • 30% hike: 28,735 TL

These scenarios, while not an official decision, reflect public expectations.
