In Afyonkarahisar, chestnuts, the essential fruit of the winter months, have hit the stalls this season with high prices, starting at 150 TL per kilogram and varying based on quality. Citizens are showing great interest in the chestnuts that have appeared on the stalls at the covered market in the Şuhut district. The high price of chestnuts, a beloved winter fruit, is not stopping chestnut lovers from buying them.

Even though the lowest price for chestnuts is 150 TL, they still have a large customer base. Fahrettin Kelhacıoğlu, who sells chestnuts at the market, stated that sales have increased with the arrival of the winter months, saying, "The winter season has arrived, and naturally, our chestnut sales have increased. We have two varieties of chestnuts: Bursa chestnuts and Aydın chestnuts. Our customers can buy their chestnuts with confidence; we do not bring low-quality chestnuts circulating in the market to our hometown, so they can buy and eat them with peace of mind."
It was observed that citizens coming to the market, who found the prices a bit high, generally bought half a kilogram of chestnuts.
