AA survey: Annual inflation to rise to 74.89 percent

Economists participating in the AA Finance Inflation Expectation Survey estimate that inflation will increase by 3.04 percent in May. Economists project that annual inflation, which was 69.80 percent the previous month, will rise to 74.89 percent.

AA Finance's expectation survey regarding the May inflation data, which will be announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) on Monday, June 3, was concluded with the participation of 15 economists.

Accordingly, the average of the economists' inflation expectations for May was 3.04 percent.

The inflation expectations of the economists participating in the survey for May ranged from a low of 2.85 percent to a high of 3.50 percent.

ANNUAL INFLATION TO RISE TO 74.89 PERCENT

According to the average of the economists' inflation expectations for May, it is projected that annual inflation, which was 69.80 percent the previous month, will rise to 74.89 percent.

On the other hand, the economists' year-end inflation expectation for 2024 was 43.95 percent in May.

The Consumer Price Index had recorded an increase of 3.18 percent in April.
